Eminem- My name is
Hi kids! Do you like violence? (Yeah yeah yeah!)
Wanna see me stick Nine inch Nails, through each one of my eyelids? (Uh-huh!)
Wanna copy me and do exactly like I did? (Yeah yeah!)
Try 'cid and get fucked up worse that my life is? (Huh?)
Here we see Eminem using slant rhyme and end rhyme. He uses these rhymes the way he does because it gives the song a very inconsistent and unpredictable flow that a lot of people enjoy. If he wants to say one or two more words in each line different than other lines, this style gives him that freedom as long as he uses end rhyming and slant rhyming.

good song choice.
ReplyDeleteI love Eminem! He is such a great rapper, and has real natural talent! I think it is so cool how he made "like violence" and "my eyelids" rhyme, I would never have noticed that! Similarly, the slant rhyme, "like I did" and "my life is" are very effective and I would not have seen this rhyme. Also, I like how you say it it has a "inconsistent and unpredictable flow," that is a perfect way to describe it!
